We believe every child deserves to be raised by their biological parent(s) and we offer support for parents in raising their family in a safe environment, protecting their child/ren from harm, and giving their child/ren the best care possible as they grow up. We offer residential care on behalf of Local Authorities, placing families seeking support, in our assessment centres. Our parenting assessment centres are promoted as family oriented, with a team of warm and friendly family support workers who provide families with a nurturing environment to learn in. We believe that every parent can harness their full potential within our care and with our support, so that they have the chance to raise their child/ren in the best possible environment.
PAFA is committed to provide the best outcome for children, to offer them a safe and supportive environment to grow up in.
We promote a safe and nurturing environment for parents to reach their full potential when raising their children.
We opened our doors in 2015 and have since made it our mission to reunite families who have experienced difficult situations. Our Registered Manager, Barbara Liversage and Responsible Individual, Elaine Karema, are the Directors of our organisation. Barbara and Elaine are qualified social workers, who have a shared vision in children’s rights, and creating a safe space for them to grow up in. Our team of incredible family support workers are the reason we have supported over 90 families over the past 9 years, and we will continue this support families, whilst working with Local Authorities.
We place families within our four-bedroom property in Heswall, and our one-bedroom Wallasey property. Both properties promote a nurturing, family oriented and safe environment for parents to reach their full potential and bring up their child/ren in the best environment. Our properties offer communal and private areas, with a large kitchen with dining area for parents to prepare meals for their child/ren, and a cosy living areas and dining rooms for family mealtimes.
After a Local Authority has placed a family at our parenting assessment centre, we provide them with a 12-14 week ‘Residential Parenting Assessment’ and ‘Support Programme’, to support their individual needs.
Our philosophy is simple, we provide a safe and nurturing environment for parents to thrive, whilst supporting their child/ren as they grow up.
Families leave our centre with the knowledge and understanding of how to safely raise their child/ren, and learn how to provide them with the best care going forward.
As well as offering in-house services, we work in partnership with many local organisations to extend the support we offer families. These service include working simultaneously with social care authorities across the North and Southwest, to place families in need of support in our parenting assessment centres. We also work with a range of Early Year’s Providers, who offer childcare for children under 5 years old, who are registered with bodies including Ofsted, to ensure safety and consistency in childcare.
We partner with Drug and Alcohol agencies to support parents with therapy and additional treatments to overcome their difficulties. We also work with local NHS organisations, such as hospitals and GP’s based on the Wirral, who provide smoking cessation classes and more. We work with Tomorrow’s Women, who offer support with a range of issues including domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, wellbeing & confidence, and social isolation.

Our support extends far beyond parenting assessments, we work with a wide range of local organisations and specialist services to support individuals on a one-to-one basis.
We commission and work in partnership with three specialist service providers, providing in house therapy with Clinical Psychologist, Healthy Relationships Practitioner and Drug and Alcohol Specialist. At PAFA, we go the extra mile when providing support for individuals, as they have the opportunity to work closely with these specialist service providers on a one-to-one basis.
We also work with a range of partners to offer additional support for families who stay with us. These partnerships include local councils, such as Wirral Borough Council, Liverpool City Council, Warrington Borough Council and Sefton Council. These partnerships allow us to work with Local Authorities, to place families in one of our two parenting assessment centres.
We believe every child deserves to be raised by their biological parent/s, and to have the ability to thrive in a nurturing and safe environment.
By re-educating parents on how to provide the best care for their child/ren, we are setting them up for a better future, surrounded by love and safety whilst in their parents care. Parents will leave our centre with the ability to reach their full potential, and consistently meet the needs of their child/ren going forward.
