We understand that new residents may feel unsure when arriving at either of our houses, and we understand it can take time to settle into our accommodation. You may take some time to become familiar with our programme, surroundings and staff. Taking this into account, we have introduced a two-week settling in period for new residents. Therefore, if behaviour is manageable for us, any concerns raised during the first two weeks will be documented on our ‘Verbal Warning’ forms and formal processes will commence within the third week. Our fully qualified Social Workers will explain this to you upon arrival. Parenting Assessments run between 12 and 14 weeks, and if an assessment is not going as planned, a disruption meeting will be held with yourself and the Local Authority to see how this can be improved, or if the placement should be terminated.

Your family’s room and facilities will be prepped and ready for you to move into. You will need to bring children’s toys, prams, pushchairs, sterilisers, bottles, clothes, toiletries, food and any other items your child has with you. You are more than welcome to bring items with you that will help you to feel more at home, such as photographs.

Family Support Workers will support you within the local community initially to access local services during your stay with us. This will be regularly reviewed and when it is agreed by the Local Authority that it is felt that you are able to keep yourself and your child safe in the community, then the level of support will gradually be reduced.

Currently, we are not promoting contact (physically or virtually) and do not supervise contact in the community. We do not promote face to face contact in house however, we will support the family to and from the Local Authorities chosen venue for contact with older children. We can promote virtual contact on a regular basis at specified dates and times.

We have CCTV with audio inside and outside of the property. Cameras are in the bedrooms and the communal areas and are for the purpose of ensuring safety for you and your child/ren. There is a minimum of four daytime staff and two nighttime staff on every day to ensure your family is safe and cared for. Staff will offer one to one support to you to ensure you are meeting the needs of your child/ren. This level of support can be reduced once agreed with the Local Authority in our regular meetings.

We have 24-hour support from our highly trained team of support workers, to ensure that everybody feels safe, secure and support is available when required. This alongside the CCTV (with audio) enables security to be of a very high standard.

To ensure your safety, staff carry out random phone checks. Phones cannot be taken out of sight of CCTV therefore they are not to be taken into bathrooms or the garden area.
