Our founding members share the vision to give parents a second chance, to promote positive parenting habits, and to provide their child/ren with a thriving environment to grow up in.
Barbara Liversage
Barbara is the founder of PAFA, she has a deep passion when it comes to supporting families to live independently of services. Her path to social work began back in 2000, when she volunteered for the Youth Offending Service as a Mentor for Young People who had committed criminal offences to fund their drug/alcohol dependency. Whilst working in the role, Barbara found herself wanting to go down the career path of re-educating families, changing behaviours, and the future outcomes for families.
In 2002 Barbara was employed as a Field Work Assistant for Wirral Borough Council, and in 2007, she achieved a BA Hons in Social Work. Since then, she has gained many years of experience working in the social care sector, predominantly with children. Barbara’s duties within these Local Authorities have included front line child protection, assessing risk, care planning, direct work with children and empowering parents to take control over their situation.
Barbara has been involved in producing reports for the court arena, including private law, she also assisted with Age Assessments for Local Authorities in determining ages of unaccompanied asylum seekers whilst ensuring female asylum seekers voices were heard.

Elaine Karema
Elaine, works alongside Barbara and has been a qualified registered Social Worker since October 2008. During her practice as a front-line social worker her skills have developed within child protection, child in need and children in care cases, undertaking direct work with children to obtain their wishes and feelings, and undertaking parenting assessments for the future care planning of the children and families. Elaine supports families throughout their journeys, and helps them to live a better life going forward.

We have a team of safeguarding officers, family support workers, person centred practitioners and more, to provide a well-rounded group of individuals to help cater for each individual family’s needs.
Our team of highly qualified, comprehensively trained and dedicated family support workers are passionate and motivated; they share the same vision as the founders of the organisation in supporting parents make and sustain change whilst promoting health and wellbeing.
